The healthiest country in the world is now Spain, according to a 2019 Bloomberg Healthy Country Index. That may come as a surprise, but it probably shouldn’t. We’ve known of the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet for a decade now, and the message seems to be spreading. Spanish agricultural exports of fruits and vegetables, olive oil and wine are booming, along with sales of specialty farm equipment to preserve the quality of those high value crops.
