The Calgary Stampede started out as an agricultural show, and still features a significant agricultural component that for the past three years has been the focus of a week-long internship involving a Guelph student with agricultural communications savvy. This year, Stefanie Nagelschmitz (OAC 2009) will be onsite at the Stampede in early July, writing agricultural stories and news releases for the organization's agricultural committee.

This caps off a stellar year for Stef, a former resident assistant affectionately known as Mama Buck, because she was the Aggie cluster leader to so many OAC 2010 Bucks. Just a few weeks ago, she was named winner of the University of Guelph's prestigious R.P. Gilmor Award for Student Life, for her inspired contributions and leadership. Congratulations to Stef for the Gilmor award and the Stampede internship.
