Dear Owen,
I enjoyed reading your post on the Ontario wine business. I've been tracking the Canadian wine business as much as possible and am interested in knowing if there are any California based importers that are bringing in wines from Canada. I am a scout for such wines for a company called www.wholeworldwines.com and its sister company www.importedwinesdirect.com. This company allows foreign wineries to sell direct-to-consumer out of their importers' landed stocks. I fear that very few people in the US even know that Canada produces wine, but if you do know of any of the wineries that export to the US, please feel free to give them my name and I'll be happy to answer any questions. There is no charge to use the internet platform, and the winery need only place a link to their US shopping cart on their main website. The rub is that wines must be in California, for Whole World Wines to purchase and ship to US consumers (where legal).
My husband and I have a wine marketing and sales company that specializes in imports, alternative packaging designs and sales strategy work so we love learning about new ventures, and emerging wine regions.
Thank you for an interesting article. Sincerely, Jennifer
