About my blog
Owen Roberts March 2nd, 2007
This blog is designed to stimulate comments and dialogue on current agricultural communications issues. Here, you’ll find a collection of agricultural communications news, as well as links to my weekly columns published Mondays in the Guelph Mercury, under the column name “Urban Cowboy” (i.e. a person in the city who writes about the country) and Saturdays in the Woolwich Observer (in Elmira), where the column appears as Food For Thought.
Your comments are welcome. On the home page of this blog, you’ll see links to initiatives I’m involved in or support, and I welcome you to visit those websites too.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for your message.
I reviewed this assignment from FCC, and it read as follows:
“Would you be interested in doing your Cutting Edge column on the top technological developments to watch for over the next 50 years?”
Ethics was not really meant to be part of it — especially given space limitations — although the ethics of new technology is a fantastic topic. That’s especially true for matters such as cloned animals and meat, which have significant ethical and consumer angles.
Thanks for writing. I appreciate reading your perspective.
Its great job you are doing for the country people.Thats the way you can serve your people better. I am sure you know about my country Bangladesh,a country with 150 million people of whom 80 per cent live in the rural area. They are mostly farmers. Our governments are always for rich and middle class people. We produce 27 million tonnes of rice and wheat. If you permit me I can send you an article on Bangladesh. Thanks and regards.
