Egg farmers are trying to connect producers and consumers with this contest that ties in an important part of the value chain – that is, restaurants. Everyone has their favourite breakfast restaurant. In Guelph, mine’s Eggcetera. A lot of other people feel the same way, given the lengthy wait you encounter if you arrive past 9 a.m. on Saturday. But once you sit down, no one hurries you, which likely adds to the line but makes the experience enjoyable. Anyway, as a bonus, Eggcetera is located right next to Octave Music, which sells gorgeous new and (some) used pianos. When I was there last weekend, Octave was featuring a 1920s Steinway grand for $36K. What a bonus to have a store in Guelph with that depth in pianos.
