Online agricultural communications diploma opens up

In an effort to open up our online agricultural communications diploma program, we're retiring its three three-day residencies. It's a tough decision — the learners who have taken part in the residencies have spoken highly of them. But unfortunately, the residences are limiting enrolment. It's difficult asking anyone outside the immediate vicinity of Guelph to come to the University of Guelph for three residencies in 16 months, the duration of the program. That's not what's called distance education, and this program was designed for people everywhere.

So, we're replacing the residencies with online modules. Cohort Two member Christine Schoonderwoed blogs about the change on her Aggie In the City citizen journalism initiative, along with some much-appreciated reasons for getting involved in agricultural communications education. Cohort One member Terry Stevenson likewise had some kind words to say about the program on his blog. Thanks Terry!
